Companies in Southwestern Ontario that are looking to expand should consider the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF).  If you are planning to invest in new operations, improve competitiveness, improve productivity or pursue new markets, and will be creating jobs in south-western Ontario,  you may be eligible for government funding.  SWODF will cover up to 15% of your eligible costs, to a maximum of $1.5 million.

Eligible industries for funding include: advanced manufacturing, life sciences, agri processing (primary and secondary), tourism, information and communication technology, and cultural sectors.  Eligibility criteria specify that the project must result in the hiring of ten or more full time employees (if your business has twenty or more employees) or an increase in your workforce size of 50% (if your business consists of five to twenty employees).
