Nesma Hashem was one of two new technical writers to join NorthBridge last month, and she has already made significant contributions to our team. As a technical writer working with the Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) program, her job entails writing technical narratives and preparing supporting documentation for research and development projects. She has worked with clients in industries as diverse as materials engineering and processing, food processing, and dental materials, and counts gaining this exposure to a wide range of technical applications among her favourite parts of working at NorthBridge. She has also enjoyed getting the opportunity to help her clients pursue further technological advancement by ensuring they receive the funding they deserve for their ongoing research and experimental development projects.

Nesma’s family hails from Egypt. She was born in Kuwait and now resides in London, Ontario. She holds a BESc in Chemical Engineering and an MESc in Biochemical Engineering from Western University. Previously, she has worked as an Applications Specialist at PolyAnalytik Inc., a leading company in the field of advanced gel permeation chromatography (GPC) analysis of polymers and pharmaceuticals. In her spare time, Nesma enjoys painting, reading books on personal and professional development, and spending time with her family. She also mentors a group of tween girls and volunteers on the Management Board Committee for London’s non-profit Muslim Association of Canada Youth Centre. Nesma’s future goals include obtaining her Professional Engineering licence and participating in a humanitarian aid trip to a third-world country, and she one day hopes to own an art gallery.
